We proudly serve our nation’s military retired heroes and their families in a first-class, not-for-profit environment that values teamwork, integrity, and respect. Our community includes independent living residences, spacious apartments, and three healthcare centers; Nursing, Assisted Living, and our new Hillside House Memory Care facility.

About the Role

  • Provide friendly, professional bar service to residents, families, and guests in our lounge and special event spaces.
  • Prepare and serve beer, wine, and simple mixed drinks in line with community policies and Virginia ABC regulations.

Pay and Schedule

  • Competitive hourly wage, non-tipped (no tips accepted or solicited).
  • Schedule: 11:30am to 8:00pm; flexible schedule and rotating weekends.

What “No Tips” Means Here

  • This is a non-tipped role: residents do not tip, and staff do not solicit or accept gratuities.
  • All compensation is hourly/salary through the community, designed to provide stable, predictable earnings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, stock, and maintain a clean, organized bar area before, during, and after service.
  • Take and serve drink orders, verify age when required, and follow responsible alcohol service standards.
  • Take and serve food from the bar menu.
  • Support happy hours, holiday events, and private functions within the community.
  • Communicate courteously and patiently with residents, including those with mobility or cognitive challenges.

Qualifications

  • Prior bartending or hospitality experience preferred; experience in senior living, healthcare, or hotel/resort a plus.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to complete responsible alcohol service training (e.g., TIPS or similar).
  • Strong communication skills, professional appearance, and a team-focused attitude.

Join Falcons Landing and make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults every day where your expertise and compassion define excellence in care.

Company Description

Like all great endeavors, Falcons Landing started as a dream – a dream to create a place where those who served their nation could relax and savor life to the fullest. The dream began with a group of retired officers who met regularly for breakfast at Andrews Air Force Base. One day they had a great idea; The Washington, D.C. area should have a military retirement community. They formed the Air Force Retired Officers Community (AFROC) and began a ten-year journey to make their dream a reality.

The original Board of Directors visited communities across the country to determine what would constitute the ideal retirement community. They secured financing, the perfect site, and commissioned the design and construction. Falcons Landing was completed in 1996 and the community is everything the Founders dreamed it would be... and more! We are proud to say we have been serving our residents for more than 27 years.
