The Clinical Education Coordinator at Piedmont Healthcare plays a key role in advancing clinical excellence and patient-centered care across our network of hospitals and care sites. Working within the Education, Training & E-Learning department, this role is responsible for assessing clinical education needs, designing and delivering evidence-based learning programs, and supporting continuous professional development for nurses and other clinical staff. The coordinator collaborates closely with clinical leaders, frontline caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate orientation programs, annual competencies, and specialty training initiatives. Using adult learning principles and current best practices, the Clinical Education Coordinator creates engaging classroom, simulation, and e-learning experiences that strengthen clinical skills, critical thinking, and adherence to regulatory and safety standards. Daily responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, maintaining education calendars, facilitating in-person and virtual training sessions, precepting and mentoring new staff, and coordinating competency validation. The role also supports the integration of new clinical technologies, guidelines, and workflows into practice through structured training, job aids, and performance support tools. The coordinator monitors quality and patient safety data to identify learning gaps, then partners with leaders to design targeted education that improves outcomes and supports organizational initiatives. Rooted in Piedmont Healthcare’s culture of respect, innovation, and teamwork, the Clinical Education Coordinator models professional practice, promotes a supportive and inclusive learning environment, and encourages staff engagement in lifelong learning. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient outcomes while growing professionally through access to advanced educational resources, leadership development, and collaboration with a broad network of educators and clinicians across the system. The ideal candidate brings solid clinical experience, strong presentation and facilitation skills, and demonstrated proficiency in curriculum design, e-learning, and competency-based education. Success in this role requires excellent communication, data-informed decision making, and the ability to manage multiple projects while building trusting relationships across diverse clinical settings.
