**Job Specific Duties:**
The clinical psychologist will be responsible for a range of tasks, which include, but are not limited to:
- Practicing in accordance with the stipulations set forth by the state licensing board, adhering to the American Psychological Association's Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and conforming to the privileges granted by the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
- Conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations employing data from clinical interviews, standardized psychological testing, and relevant collateral information.
- Diagnosing psychiatric conditions according to criteria established in the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
- Providing psychological interventions for both individuals and groups, particularly focusing on facilitating the coping mechanisms of medical and surgical patients as they navigate their illnesses or injuries.
- Supporting the rehabilitation process for patients.
- Engaging in additional responsibilities beyond the outlined minimum qualifications, including active participation in professional meetings during regular duty hours, such as Quality Improvement initiatives, professional staff conferences, Commander's staff meetings, and Mental Health Flight meetings, as mandated by regulatory requirements or directives from the Mental Health Flight Commander or designated authority.
- Conducting applied research and clinical investigations within the scope of clinical and behavioral health psychology.
**Work Schedule:** The standard work schedule will be Monday through Friday, comprising nine hours within the timeframe of 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, inclusive of a one-hour lunch break. There are no duties on weekends, during holidays, or on-call responsibilities.
**Minimum Qualifications:** -
**Education:** A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited institution.
- **Internship/Residency:** Successful completion of a psychology internship accredited by the American Psychological Association. -
**Experience:** A minimum of one year of post-licensure experience in a clinical psychology capacity.
- **License:** An active and unrestricted license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in any U.S. state.
- **Life Support Certification:** Valid certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC). -
**Security Clearance:** Must possess the ability to successfully undergo a government background check/security clearance process.
