Job Description

Master Data Intern

Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Trident is a privately held, 100 percent USA-owned company with global operations in 6 countries and serves customers in almost 60 countries. Headquartered in Seattle, Washington (USA), Trident employs approximately 7,700 people worldwide each year and partners with over 2,700 independent fishermen and crewmembers in Alaska. Trident catches and processes virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also encompasses cultured and wild species sourced from an international network of trusted suppliers.

The Master Data & Process Documentation Intern supports the Master Data team by documenting, mapping, and improving standard operating processes related to master data. This role focuses on learning how master data flows across the business, supporting process transparency, and ensuring documentation is clear, accurate, and easy to use for business and IT stakeholders. This summer internship is expected to last between 3 months (i.e., 12 weeks). Working hours per week for this opportunity are anticipated to be between 15 to 20 hours.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to master data creation, changes, and governance.
  • Assist in process mapping of current state and future state master data workflows (e.g., request → approval → creation → validation).
  • Document master data touchpoints across systems, teams, and business processes to improve clarity and consistency.
  • Help organize and maintain process documentation, templates, and reference materials in shared repositories.
  • Report to the SAP Master Data Lead and partner with Master Data analysts to observe and document SAP master data processes at a high level (no production changes).
  • Review documentation for clarity, accuracy, and usability, incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
  • Support data governance initiatives by documenting roles, responsibilities, and decision points related to master data.
  • Assist with continuous improvement efforts by identifying gaps, redundancies, or opportunities to simplify processes.
  • Participate in team meetings and training to build foundational knowledge of master data, ERP systems, and supply chain processes.

The essential functions listed above are not exhaustive. The organization may assign other duties as needed to meet business requirements. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

Compensation & Benefits:

This is a non-exempt position with an hourly pay rate range of $30 to $35 per hour.

Trident Seafoods offers a comprehensive and quality benefits package. Full time employees may be eligible for discretionary/performance-based incentives, medical, dental and vision insurance plans, optional HRA/HSA, telemedicine, employee assistance and wellness programs, disability programs, basic life and AD&D, and a 401(k) plan with a company match, paid time off (PTO), 10 paid holidays each year, and paid parental leave. For full-time employees, the initial PTO benefit starts at 20 days per year, adjusted commensurate with relevant experience, front loaded on the first of the year, initially prorated quarterly based on hire date. Commuter programs are also available.
