Mechanical Engineer Intern at Archer. This role is located at Archer’s headquarters in San Jose, California and is part of a 10‑week full‑time summer internship program for the summer of 2026. What You’ll Do: Take on a single project that requires analysis, design, and build to meet requirements. Work with senior engineers to complete root cause and design improvement tasks on existing battery packs. Use hands‑on skills to aid with testing and test‑fixture modifications. What You Need: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent major (Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, etc.) Must have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework (rising Junior or Senior) Demonstrated hands‑on experience through previous internships, academic projects, or personal hobbies (robotics, maker projects, automotive work, etc.) Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail Can‑do attitude, ready to learn and hit the ground running Bonus Qualifications: Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar) Experience with prototyping in machine shops Involvement in clubs such as Formula SAE, Solar Car, Baja, etc. Summer 2026 Internship Program Details: This internship is a part of a 10‑week full‑time summer internship program. Program dates are: May 26, 2026 - July 31, 2026 June 15, 2026 - August 21, 2026 We will not accommodate interns outside of these two program dates. This role will be based at Archer in San Jose, CA.
