Job Description

Community Medical Center is seeking a Physicist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department and support the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care. In this role, you will apply advanced principles of physics to diagnostic imaging, radiation therapy, and other clinical technologies used across our hospital. Working closely with physicians, dosimetrists, technologists, nurses, and administrators, you will help ensure that equipment and clinical practices meet the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance. The Physicist will perform routine and specialized quality assurance testing on imaging and treatment systems, including CT, MRI, X‑ray, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and/or linear accelerators, depending on service line needs. You will calibrate equipment, verify treatment and imaging parameters, analyze data, and document results to support precise diagnosis and therapy. You will contribute to patient‑specific planning and review by validating complex calculations, assessing dose distributions, and helping to optimize imaging and treatment protocols for both effectiveness and safety. This position plays a key role in radiation safety and regulatory adherence, including assisting with radiation protection programs, maintaining accurate records, supporting inspections, and educating staff about safe use of ionizing and non‑ionizing radiation. You will help develop and update clinical policies, procedures, and protocols in response to new regulations, evidence‑based guidelines, and technological advancements. Community Medical Center emphasizes compassionate, patient‑centered care, and the Physicist is expected to collaborate closely with clinical teams to improve patient outcomes. You will participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, contribute to the evaluation and introduction of new technologies, and support performance‑improvement initiatives. You will also assist with staff training on imaging and radiation equipment, promote best practices, and serve as a technical resource to clinicians and leadership. Aligned with our culture of continuous learning and innovation, this role offers opportunities for professional growth through involvement in clinical research, technology assessments, and outcomes‑driven projects. The Physicist may participate in data analysis, process improvement, and the development of novel methods to enhance image quality, treatment precision, and workflow efficiency. You will be encouraged to stay current with advances in medical physics, attend relevant conferences or educational programs as appropriate, and share knowledge with colleagues. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both clinical and non‑technical audiences. Success in this role requires a collaborative mindset, respect for diverse perspectives, and a commitment to our mission of delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care to the community we serve. This full‑time position is primarily on‑site within the hospital and clinical areas, with possible hybrid tasks for planning, analysis, and documentation as operationally appropriate.
